Foundational Leadership Work
Support for men whose leadership carries weight – and who want real change without forcing a one-size-fits-all solution.
This path is designed for men who are capable, responsible, and successful by most external measures, but who feel the internal cost of carrying leadership over time. The work here is intentional, serious, and paced to fit where pressure is actually showing up – not where someone thinks it “should.”
How This Work Helps
This path focuses on addressing what sits beneath behavior, performance, and productivity. Rather than offering strategies alone, the work helps reduce the internal strain that quietly drives burnout, reactivity, avoidance, or disconnection.
Men often experience:
-
Greater clarity and steadiness under pressure
-
Reduced emotional reactivity and mental fatigue
-
More grounded leadership decisions
-
Improved presence in key relationships
-
A sense that leadership no longer requires constant self-override
The goal is not to optimize you – it’s to remove what’s been weighing you down so leadership becomes sustainable again.
Who Leads this Work
This path is led by Mark Odland – MA, LMFT, MDIV, who brings a focused, experience-based approach to supporting men under pressure. Mark Odland is the Founder of Lion Counseling and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of clinical experience. He is a Certified EMDR Therapist who has conducted more than 15,000 therapy sessions, trained over 1,000 therapists, and worked extensively with high-responsibility men.
Beyond his clinical work, Mark has built and led multiple businesses himself, giving him firsthand understanding of the internal pressure that comes with leadership, decision-making, and long-term responsibility. His work focuses on helping men address the deeper emotional and relational patterns that quietly drive burnout, reactivity, and disconnection. As the clinical architect of the practice, Mark sets the depth, standards, and direction of care while ensuring clients are matched thoughtfully to the kind of work that fits their current season.
A Note on Flexibility and Fit
Many men begin with one path and later shift as clarity increases. There is no “wrong” place to start. Our approach is designed to remain flexible – matching the kind of support that fits your current season, not locking you into a fixed track.
