Until we meet, I won’t know the details of your unique story. So many assumptions and misunderstandings. You feel  taken for granted. The world outside respects you and admires you. Why does it feel like this in your own home? And let’s be honest. If you choose to work with me, I’ll strive to understand your perspective, as well as you’re wife’s. I’ll identify the old hurts, the misunderstandings, and the negative patterns that erode your relationship, and provide strategies for a fresh start. I’ll teach you better ways of communicating, especially around difficult subjects, and have you practice in my office. As the “referee,” I won’t allow either of you to fall back into your old patterns and I’ll hold your feet to the fire with compassion, but also with firmness. I’ll also call out the individual issues that are getting in the way of the marriage, and recommend individual counseling when necessary. Religious or not, there’s something sacred about marriage. There’s something worth fighting for. And for marriages to survive, things like forgiveness and grace are much needed but often hard to find. And so for those that want it, I’m happy to include a Christian Counseling perspective as well.
